Fourteen-plus years in embedded software, working across the whole stack from low-level BSP drivers up to application frameworks, with deep practical knowledge of Android AOSP, Linux, GTV and webOS. Started as a BSP engineer at LeCroy (Shenzhen), then joined Changhong (Zhongshan) and moved up from software engineer to expert software engineer, technical lead and senior expert designer. Products I led have shipped more than ten million units worldwide.
Right now I am deliberately making a bigger jump: from leading technology to enabling an organisation. Trading fourteen years of hands-on technical judgement for predictable delivery and for people who grow.

2011 — 2013
Oscilloscope software — DSP / FPGA and low-level drivers. This is where I built the hardware-to-software link.
2013 — 2015
System architecture and software development for smart TVs — the jump from single features to system design.
2015 — 2020
Led research into new technologies and their rollout, and helped build the in-house smart TV operating system.
2021 — Present
Owns technical delivery for A- and B-class projects, plus team development, engineering standards and knowledge assets.

From leading technology to enabling an organisation
There is one clear thread through my career: do the hardest thing first, then turn it into something the team can copy. I have worked as software lead, technical lead and project manager, and as head of the QT and WEB technology groups and Linux team lead — which adds up to a general ability to carry a group of engineers through a complex project.

How people grow here: a new hire moves through 1:1 mentoring, module design and code review, and is encouraged to build experience on live work until they can own a component independently.

01 Project planning & schedule control
Owns the overall rhythm of a project and the critical milestones for streaming, audio/video and platform-level global certification — keeping vendors and the multi-site teams in Zhongshan and Chengdu working in step so the project lands on time.
02 Leading from the front on hard problems
Not only managing but writing code. When headcount is thin and the workload is heavy, I take the hardest part myself, then lead the team through the remaining technical blockers so the product still ships on schedule.
03 Cross-team coordination & unblocking
Works with chipset, middleware and overseas platform vendors — driving the communication, clearing interface and ownership boundaries so that many teams can move together without friction.
04 Quality management & customer communication
Holds the quality bar and takes every bug seriously, backed by thorough testing. Deeply involved in requirements discussions with overseas brand customers, and precise about managing customisation requests.
05 Engineering standards & knowledge assets
Leads product specification definition and writes the specs, development handbooks, interface design conventions and solution guidelines that later projects can reuse.

DTBO compilation tool
Compiles Android device trees on Windows, with no Linux environment required.
Per-partition build tool
Turns a full-image build into a partition-level incremental build — an order of magnitude off the iteration loop.
Visual build platform
Pick your options in a browser and the build configures itself. The repetitive work goes back to the tool.
Cross-platform barcode engine
Renders barcodes across Linux, Android and non-OS targets using C++ bitmaps. It broke through the limitation that Linux-based chipsets could not display barcodes at all, and is now widely used on the factory floor for scanning serial numbers and MAC addresses.
Fully automated EEPROM writer
Taught myself COM programming to build the burner add-on that a third-party company had not managed to deliver.
AI-assisted R&D
Among the first here to bring AI into both the TV experience and the development workflow — the idea moving from “watching TV” to “using TV”, and finally towards “having an AI companion at home”.
